Top Tips Pre & Post Spray Tan!
- Ensure you have exfoliated your skin at least 24 hours pre spray tan (especially elbows, knees, ankles, feet) – to promise the most even application of your tan.
- Make sure you have all your shaving done by at least the night before your spray tan (especially if you have sensitive skin or prone to razor burn)
- Moisturise your skin every day leading up to your spray tan (avoid Aveeno products – can change colour of your tan when mixed together)
- If you are getting waxed, laser, epilated or threaded pre tan – ensure to space these out by minimum 48-72 hours- to prevent irritation.
- Avoid applying body lotion, deodarant, perfume, make-up or oils on the day on your appointment, as these can create a barrier and can affect the result of your tan.
- Wear dark, loose clothing and open-toe footwear to your appointment to prevent rubbing or transfer.
- Remove all jewellery before your appointment.
- Post Spray-Tan – sleep in your tan or wait at least 8-10 hours before having a rinse of cool water in the shower. Avoid hot showers, shower gel, body scrubs, sponges & razors – a bar of soap is more gentle on the skin if needed. When you stand out of the shower, gently pat yourself dry. You can apply body lotion/moisturiser after your. shower once the excess tan has been removed. You may need to repeat this process twice before your event! (especially if your outfit is white/light colour)
- Avoid swimming, baths, saunas & gyms (sweating) , as these will cause your tan to fade faster than usual.
- Be careful when washing hair post spray tan- as shampoo & conditioner will remove tan on your neck & back faster.
