How Does Microneedling with Mesotherapy Work?

This advanced skin procedure involves creating thousands of superficial micro-channels with a medical-grade serum chosen by your skin specialist which then travels directly into the epidermis & mesoderm. These micro-channels allow selected active ingredients like (incl. Hyaluronic Acid, Salmon DNA, Peptides & Ceramides) to penetrate deeper into the skin where they can work most effectively. When you apply your lovely serums at home, they can only travel so far… Therefore, doing microneedling with meso can travel & absorb these ingredients deeper! This treatment aims to nourish & rejuvenate, boost cell activity & stimulate the production of collagen & elastin. This process improves the strength, structure, & appearance of the skin as well as helping it retain moisture.

What can I expect on the day of treatment?

Our skin specialist will give you a skin consultation form to fill out. From here, you will have a thorough skin consultation & analysis- to ensure this is the correct treatment for your skins needs. Your treatment will begin like a facial, starting off with a deep cleanse & exfoliation. Your therapist will go on to sanitise your skin to prep it for treatment. She will then choose what meso glide will be most suitable, and apply it to the area being treated. Your microneedling will begin. After this, your specialist will apply a cooling & hydrating mask. You will be given time under the LED lamp to speed up the healing time. Lastly, she will apply your aftercare products & give you the recommended aftercare advice.

Is it painful?

This treatment can feel spicey at different parts of the face, but very tolerable!

How long does the treatment take?

We advise clients to allow themselves at least 1 hour 30 minutes.

This includes a thorough skin analysis & consultation, treatment & cool down time. Depending on how much of an area you want treated- the actual microneedling treatment itself may only take 20-30 minutes.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Redness (may last up to 24-48 hours)
Tight feeling (you can use cold water/ice/cooling products that evening if needed)
Dryness/Dehydration (ensure application of nourishing products post treatment)
Tiny Marks
Swelling & Bruising can happen, depending on the sensitivity of your skin

How long will the results last?

For optimum results, we recommend a course of 3-6 treatments of Microneedling with Mesotherapy. Once you complete the recommended course, the results can last from 3-6 months. We recommend a booster treatment every 3-6 months to maintain your glow!

To get the most out of your treatments, your skin specialist will give you product/ingredient advice, if your skin care routine is not up to scratch, your results may not last as long as it should! Your therapist will recommend using daily sun protection Factor 50 everyday and using active ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Peptides- depending on your skins needs.

Is Mesotherapy Treatment safe?

Yes! As Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found in the skin & depletes naturally as we get older, it is completely safe to inject into the mesoderm & provides a very effective rejuvenation treatment for clients.

Important Tips To Consider !

You must be 18 or over to undergo this treatment
You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding
Please AVOID sun exposure for at least 3-4 weeks pre & post microneedling – to avoid irritation
If you have a blood/skin thinning medical condition you may not be suitable for this treatment
Please AVOID taking blood/skin thinning medication for at least 1 week prior to your appointment (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Antibiotics & Steroids)
Avoid applying topical products to the area being treated 1 week pre & post treatment (Tretinoin/Retin-A/Retinol, Glycolic Acid/AHAs)
Please AVOID applying false tan to the areas being treated 1 week pre & post treatment
Avoid having any harsh treatments performed on the areas being treated at least 1 week pre & post microneedling (Other Facials, Waxing & Threading)
If you are prone to Keloid Scars (raised scars) you will NOT be suitable for this treatment
If you have episodes of Herpes Simplex (cold sores), particularly if treating around the mouth area, it is recommended to undergo a complete antiviral course treatment before undergoing any microneedling.
If you intend to have other facial treatments within the same period of your microneedling, please space out your appointments- to allow your skin to fully recover from one treatment before going onto the next! (Botox, Profhilo, Fillers, Laser, Permanent Make Up)
